Candidate Registration System (Filing)

To become an official candidate on the ballot, you must be a registered voter in your district, affiliated with the corresponding political party, meet the qualifications of the office, and formally declare your candidacy with our office.  Our office has notary services available for filings.

The required Declaration of Candidacy and Petition of Candidacy forms must be filed with the County Clerk's office beginning on March 2, 2026 until March 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Petition signatures must be verified by the Valley County Clerk.
Individuals who run as write-in candidates must file a Declaration of Intent no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2026.
