Indigent

Indigent services can provide temporary assistance to those in our community when no other options are available. If you qualify, we can help you pay for cremation, utilities (power and gas only), and rent. Assistance from the county is limited to one month’s service in a 12-month period. Pursuant to Idaho Code Title 31, Chapter 34, those who receive assistance may be required to reimburse the program.

If you are applying for any of our services, please know you will need to meet certain requirements, complete an application, be interviewed by a deputy clerk, and provide information regarding income, assets, expenses and much more. The county then will verify the information and make a formal recommendation to the Valley County Board of Commissioners.

STEP 1) Fill out the application and sign in front of a notary: APPLICATION
STEP 2) Gather the required documents:

STEP 3) Schedule an interview M-F 8:00am-3:30pm.

If you file an application for assistance and you withhold or give false or incomplete information in order to get assistance from the County that you are not entitled to, you could be found guilty of a Misdemeanor.
