Reservations
Are reservations available?

Overnight camping is available on a "first come, first serve" basis. In the future, a limited number of campsites will be reservable ahead of time. Day picnicking, hiking and fishing, (with a fishing license), is always available.

How long can we stay at Horsethief Campground?

You can stay up to 14 days, as stated on the entrance sign.

Camp Sites
Are hook-ups available for RVs and camping trailers?

No. Each campsite "loop" provides vault toilets.  No campsite water, electrical or wastewater connections are available.  In nearby Cascade, Harpo’s Chevron, 823 Main St, Cascade ID 83611 / 208-382-3181, operates an RV dump station for about $10. Harpo's also has potable water available (summer only).

Does Horsethief Campground maintain ADA campsites? What is available?

Yes, Horsethief Reservoir Campground currently has four ADA campsites reserved exclusively for those with documented disabilities. Please have a hang tag, license plate, or other indicator on your vehicle.

What is the condition of the gravel road accessing the Campground?

The gravel roads are graded as often as practicable. Driving really slow will get you to the campsite of your choice and/or to great fishing with minimal dust and bounce.

Rules & Regulations
What are the "leash rules" for dogs at Horsethief Campground?

Dogs must remain on a leash at ALL times within the Campground unless they are within your tent, trailer, pop-up, 5th wheel or RV, etc. Owners must clean up their dog’s waste.
