Assessor

Mission Statement

The Assessor’s Office functions as a service to you, the taxpayer.  We strive to serve all property owners courteously, fairly and equitably.  In addition to developing assessments our office provides current assessment plats and ownership information taken from public records.  We also provide Department of Motor Vehicle licensing and titling in our Cascade DMV office.

Welcome to the Valley County Assessor’s Office.

The County Assessor's Office is responsible for the assessment of property.  It is the Assessor’s duty to determine equitable values on both real and personal property for tax purposes.  Determining the value of real and personal property is the first step in property tax administration.  The duties of the Assessor in regard to this function are prescribed in Title 63 of the Idaho Code.  The Assessor also acts as the agent of the Department of Idaho Transportation in titling and registering vehicles.  We believe the information that is presented here will help you, the taxpayer, understand current assessment procedures.  If you have any further questions, please contact our office at 208-382-7126.  You may also contact us by e-mail at: assessor@co.valley.id.us.
