Valley County is a scenic rural county located in west central Idaho. The County is home to the beautiful resort town of McCall which is located on pristine Payette Lake. McCall’s Winter Carnival draws ice and snow sculptors from around the country. There are two ski resorts serving Valley County, Brundage Mountain (in Adam’s county bordering Valley County) and Tamarack which offers great powder skiing. Valley County is also home to outstanding and numerous snowmobiling and Nordic ski trails. If you are more into warm weather activities, Valley County offers world class whitewater and wilderness opportunities on the Payette and Salmon rivers in addition to the Frank Church, River of No Return Wilderness area. The area hosts the best back country flying experience in the lower 48 states. In the summer the County comes alive with boaters, campers, hikers and anglers. If backpacking is your passion the County sports numerous back country lakes, streams, and rivers. If you are looking for a lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of larger metropolitan areas, Valley County is for you!

The Deputy Coroner is a part time on call position with Valley County where the primary function is to investigate scenes of death to determine the cause and manner of death. Duties include assisting in investigations, maintaining accurate and complete documentation and records, performing cremation exams, maintaining databases and files. This position will work closely with law enforcement, medical personnel and other parties.
