Valley County is a scenic rural county located in west central Idaho. The County is home to the beautiful resort town of McCall which is located on pristine Payette Lake. McCall’s Winter Carnival draws ice and snow sculptors from around the country. There are two ski resorts serving Valley County, Brundage Mountain (in Adam’s county bordering Valley County) and Tamarack which offer great powder skiing.  Valley County is also home to outstanding and numerous snowmobiling and Nordic ski trails. World class whitewater and wilderness opportunities are right here in Valley County on the Payette and Salmon rivers and in the Frank Church, River of No Return Wilderness area. The area hosts the best back country flying experience in the lower 48 states.  In the summer the County comes alive with boaters, campers, hikers and anglers.  If backpacking is your passion the County sports numerous back country lakes, streams, and rivers.  If you are looking for a lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of larger metropolitan areas, Valley County is for you!

Court Clerk

The Court Clerk department is a busy office with customer contact both in person and over the phone.  Someone in this position will perform legal administrative duties relating to civil and criminal proceedings brought before the Magistrate and District Courts. Primary responsibilities include opening new cases, accepting and receipting fees and payments, scheduling, and preparing legal documents and court and judicial orders. In this position one will sit at a desk for long periods of time working on a computer.  There will be some moving about the office and standing while helping customers .  To apply, please complete the general application below, send it to with your resume also attached.  Pay for this position begins at $13.64 per hour.

Building Official

This position will interpret, administer, coordinate, and apply the Building Codes as adopted by the County and State.  Which means this position ensures new construction and remodels are being completed in compliance with regulatory building codes.  This position will work with contractors and will issue building permits.  The Building Official is a working manager position and will supervise one other employee.

Patrol Deputy, Sheriff’s Office, FT, starting salary $20.67/hr. DOE .+ benefits and training. Currently seeking person with POST certification and experience. Shift work and weekend shifts are required. Position is open until filled.
