It is the mission of Valley County Human Resources to promote a positive and respectful workplace where we work together to support the citizens of Valley County.   

Valley County is a scenic rural county located in west central Idaho. The County is home to the beautiful resort town of McCall which is located on pristine Payette Lake. McCall’s Winter Carnival is a festive event that draws ice and snow sculptors from around the country. There are two ski resorts serving Valley County, Brundage Mountain (in Adam’s county bordering Valley County) and Tamarack both offer great powder skiing.  Valley County is also home to outstanding and numerous snowmobiling and Nordic ski trails in addition to world class whitewater and wilderness opportunities.  Valley County is home to the Payette and Salmon rivers and the Frank Church, River of No Return Wilderness area. The area hosts the best back country flying experience in the lower 48 states.  In the summer the County comes alive with boaters, campers, hikers and anglers.  If backpacking is your passion the County sports numerous back country lakes, streams, and rivers.  If you are looking for a lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of larger metropolitan areas, Valley County is for you!

Patrol Deputy, Sheriff’s Office, Full Time position with entry pay at $19.69 per hour + benefits and training.  Applicants that are currently certified begin at $20.67 + benefits.
About the position:
Someone in this position will enforce State and local laws to protect people and property. We expect the person to prevent crime through professionalism, integrity, honesty and commitment.  Duties normally consist of patrol or traffic activities and response to calls in the County.  In this position, one may work evenings and week-ends and will be exposed to outdoor temperatures and weather extremes.  Someone in this position is exposed to the public and to a variety of associated behaviors.   This position requires the ability to drive a vehicle in all types of conditions.  We are looking for someone who is comfortable with the use of firearms.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or something equivalent.  The right person must be able to deal with all types of personalities in a fair manner.  This is a law enforcement position that requires a person to be physically fit.  Anyone chosen for this position will undergo a stringent background screening.  A POST or equivalent certificate is preferred.  For more detailed information check out the job description:  Patrol Deputy 2017

Communications Deputy, Sheriff’s Office, FT in Cascade. Position starts at $16.52/hr DOE, plus full benefits and paid training. Shift work is required. Law Enforcement application required. Position open until filled. Download Communications Deputy job description. 
 
Detention Deputy, Sheriff’s Office:  Full time position.  Entry pay is between $17.20 and $18.23 depending upon experience.
About the position:The Detention Deputy will ensure the basic needs of inmates are being met in a safe and controlled environment. This position will monitor all activity within the jail and respond to situations that arise. A person hired for this position will need to be certified through Police Officers Standard Training (POST) within one year.  In this position, one will be exposed to violent behaviors a
and to verbal abuse by the inmates. This position will be trained in the use of firearms.

Seasonal Marine Deputy:  Seasonal position that normally goes from May to the end of September.  Entry pay for this position is $20.00.
About the position:  Someone in this position works to promote the safety of those who use the waters of Valley County.  This position will educate, provide public assistance, and enforce laws and regulations.   In this position, one will be exposed to outdoor temperatures and weather extremes.  As a Marine Deputy, one will be on the water in a boat for long periods of time.  Someone in this position is exposed to the public and to a variety of associated behaviors.
Qualifications:  We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or something equivalent.  This position requires someone to be able to swim and operate a boat. Road Technician, Road Department:  Full time position.  Entry pay is at $15.30 per hour depending upon experience.
About the position: In this position one will operate light and heavy equipment to perform maintenance and construction work on County roads, bridges, and rights-of-way. This position will also do manual labor and will seasonally work long hours.
Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma and a class A CDL. We are looking for someone who has operated heavy equipment and is able to perform physical labor.  This position will work in all types of weather conditions and will be required to drive equipment in snowy weather.  For more information on the position, check out the job description here:  Road Maintenance Technician I.

Transfer Station Gatekeeper:  Full time position.  Pay begins at $14.43 per hour with excellent benefits.
About the position:  The transfer station varies between a lot of activity to very quiet.  The location of the Transfer Station is in the foothills east of Donnelly.  In this position one will interact with customers and determine the fees that need to be charged for the load.  This position may help customers unload their waste so the ability to work outside is important.  At the end of the day this position will account for all of the funds taken in for that day.  This position is a combination of working at a desk and moving about outside at the dump site.
Qualifications:  We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or something equivalent.  This person will have at least 1 year of experience as a cashier or in an administrative position.  Customer service skills are required for this position.  For more information, check out the job description here:  Transfer Station Gatekeeper 2018.
