Valley County Sheriff’s Office support staff is committed to public service. The support staff has 4 full time and 1 part time employees. We are here to assist you with your driver’s license, concealed weapons permits, sex offender registrations, fingerprinting, civil process, found property, and records requests needs and answer your questions.
Drivers License Services
Valley County Sheriffs office offers full service for State issued drivers license and identification cards. For questions concerning fees, rules, regulations, forms please call us at (208) 382-7158 or go to the Idaho Transportation Department web site at itd.idaho.gov
Valley County Driver License Office is now open to normal traffic.
We are requesting that the public assist us in keeping our community safe and our open.
Masks are required and we are limiting the amount of people allowed in the office and lobby at a time
Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday
Testing for Class D and Motorcycle endorsements hours are 8am to 4pm
Testing for CDL hours 8am to 3:30pm
Fingerprinting services available Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 4pm
Our Driver License, Concealed Weapon Permit and Fingerprinting Offices will be closed March 10, 2021 for training

Idaho Sex Offender Registration
Drivers License Support Staff does the Sex Offender Registration for Offenders residing in Valley County for more than 2 business days. Valley County reports directly to Idaho State Police Sex Offender Registry.
Administration support staff does fingerprinting for employment backgrounds. Please have your employer provide you with fingerprint cards. Bring the fingerprint cards to the Valley County Sheriff’s Office during business hours and will fill out the card and fingerprint you. The cost is $5.00.
The records Clerk is responsible for maintaining, copying and retention of all reports by Valley County Sheriffs Deputies. Persons wanting to complete a statement form or a walk-in accident may download and mail in the form from this page.
Public records are available to persons requesting a copy. In order to best serve the public and to process your request for public records as expeditiously as possible, all requests to examine or copy public records must be made in writing. Pursuant to Idaho State Code 9-338(8), all requests made are subject to a copy and/or processing fee which may be required prior to receipt of record(s).
Found property and property held for safekeeping will be held for at least six (6) months. Property personnel shall attempt to contact the rightful owner. Property not claimed within 30 days after notification will be auctioned, destroyed, or disposed of as the removing authority deems appropriate. A property and evidence technician shall release the property upon proper identification being presented by the owner for which an authorized release has been received. Property held by a Valley County Sheriffs Office for more than six months is presumed abandoned.
