Found Property

Found property and property held for safekeeping will be held for at least six (6) months. Property personnel shall attempt to contact the rightful owner. Property not claimed within 30 days after notification will be auctioned, destroyed, or disposed of as the removing authority deems appropriate. A property and evidence technician shall release the property upon proper identification being presented by the owner for which an authorized release has been received. Property held by a Valley County Sheriffs Office for more than six months is presumed abandoned.
